I ventured into writing mid-2019 from a desire to lead a small group for creatives. Searching on every website and book store I found on the internet, I found nothing to help me lead a group in the specific way I had envisioned. However, I refused to stay discouraged, and God gave me the blueprint for a group to lead creatives into growth and finding their true calling in creativity. I joined a writing critique group, produced a podcast, and got to work on developing a book to help lead me and others into true creative freedom!
I’ve discovered what you do for work, where you are in life, and why you decided on your career isn’t that important if you don’t have a purpose. *CREATOR following* is for anyone yearning to discover something new about their creativity, and will help you to find out why you’re here and why you’re creative.

Hi there, my name is Lo Mitchell!

I’m most passionate about cultivating my creative spirit, telling a story through writing and visual media, and encouraging my creative community.
People often refer to me as a creative genius because I love serving the world by teaching and coaching people in their creativity, and encouraging them to find their true calling.
You can usually find me leading creatives to grow in their creativity. I’m mostly known for photography and illustration, as well as being the Creative Director for Manna Church in Colorado Springs.
I serve people who are yearning to: discover their gifts; find their voice; build their brand; and find their true calling!

As a Creative Director for Manna Church, I’ve learned how valuable life-giving leadership is in the Creative Life. Being in a breakout role has helped me to create at a higher level, develop systems, and lead others into their callings.

As a Loan Signing Agent and Notary Public, I continue to serve my community in another capacity, as well as use my talents to cultivate a business most would argue is far from creative.

As a photographer, I’ve learned to see the world in many perspectives and through many lenses. I love being able to take something seemingly mundane, like a wedding, and tell a beautiful story.

As a Crossfit Level 1, coaching helped build my confidence and broke my fear of speaking to a big group. By creating in a more technical capacity, coaching and being an athlete helped me learn how to be resilient in times of adversity and struggle.

As a Social Media Marketer, I’ve honed my skills in communication and design. By combining the strengths of each, I’ve provided better awareness and clarity to audiences for organizations, businesses, and brands.

While wearing all of these hats, I’ve become somewhat of a Serial Entrepreneur by seizing the opportunities as they present themselves. From running a boudoir photography biz to creating 1000+ masks for the global pandemic, I’ve made and created for a living for over 20 years.

“I’m not creative.”

I’ve heard this one so many times… and it’s heartbreaking to me. You were created, therefore, you are creative. A person that cannot see the beauty in creation is a person without hope, dreams, and vision—I want all those things for all people. This book will show you how a potter, a mathematician, a chef, a jet engine mechanic, and a singer are all creative.

“I don’t have the money to buy this book.”

When people tell me this, a big part of me completely empathizes with them. However, I have a few scenarios to compare to this perspective: I worked over 40 hours a week to pay for my higher education while taking up to 18 credit hours each semester; I’ve bought courses from industry experts for hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars to teach me how to do something specific; I’ve paid for several books on one subject in order to “cover my bases,” only to find myself still in the dark. The amount of knowledge I’ve put in this book could be a course I charge thousands for, and you cannot put a price tag on the unique experience you’ll be exposed to in a small group setting. Think of this book as an accelerated, evergreen course in becoming the best version of your creative self. Skip the fill on your mani. Sell something you don’t use anymore. We invest our time in what we believe is important. I can tell you I know what it’s like to think you’re not worth it, or the countless times I’ve felt hopeless in my creative life. The more hopeless and worthless I felt, the more I drew away from others and community. When I would see someone creating and thriving, so many emotions would fill my heart… some good, but mostly bad. Don’t isolate yourself because of your feelings. If the thought of creating gives you feelings of depression, worthlessness, helplessness, and hopelessness, you need to make the time with others in creative community now more than ever.
